It is often tempting to lay back in the spectator role, and just enjoy the discussions without risking any of your own thoughts. But in order to really have a lively debate, try to post at least once per visit; Think of it as blowing on a fire in order to keep it alive and warm. Everyone will benefit, including the guests!

Here a just few different social opportunities to recommend this website to others, so that more people will visit us. Word of mouth is the most ancient way of propagating ideas, and even today, it remains the most efficient one. Together we form two distinct social organisms, the Canadian and American organisms. Our talk is about merging into a single organism, this must be propagated by word of mouth to succeed! Because the real power is with the people, we truly are the Nation. And we can prove it to ourselves, to our governments and in fact the whole world by daring to wield that power which we inherently possess.

• Relatives Consider your immediate family. Nothing to talk about at the dinner table? It's an opportunity to test the grounds. Consider your extended family. Having those family gatherings is a great avenue to bring up this topic. Perhaps some of your extended family lives in Canada (or vice-versa!): Give them a call and mention it to them! "Hey George why don't we just join forces and become a single country, how about that?". You know best what is appropriate to pitch and when, so trust your judgement and remember that this is a pretty new idea and most people who first hear it are somewhat caught off guard!
• Friends Friends are probably the most familiar group to discuss these things with, so wait for the chance, and let them know about us! It's better to bring it up in a personalized way with each friend individually then to send an "at large" email to the bunch of them. Aim for quality, not quantity, a slow but steady climb to victory is our key!
• Acquaintances This is when it gets really interesting. Bringing up this website with people outside your immediate entourage, but with whom you still share a relationship. People at work, at school, at church, at the base, at the gym, at the party, at the dance class, etc. This can be touchy, it may even backfire some of the time! But unless you come up to them like an over enthusiastic fanatic, there shouldn't be any real problems. In fact, this is the group of people you can have the most impact. Because they in turn will spread the word of mouth to new clans, and new social networks. The trick here is to simply not insist if the initial reaction is decidedly negative. Note to Americans: Don't be afraid to bring this up with fellow Canadians, yes they will be shocked at first, but it's important that you show them the openness so that they in turn will at least consider it for a moment!

Don't just tell them to visit this website, start a discussion with them on the whole topic! Most people never even stopped to think about this possibility. No need to convince them all! The mere fact of exposing them to the possibility will influence the situation positively and help pave the way for generalized acceptance.

• Internet You can help promote this movement by linking Annexation.ca on your own website. You might link us in your blog, and perhaps redact an article on the subject! You can mention us in your myspace/facebook/etc., and start your own social groups on the topic! Finally, but not least, you can and should bring up the topic of a democratic annexation of Canada to the USA on other discussion forums where you participate, by creating a thread in the appropriate section of those forums! If you sympathize with the movement, these are many ways you can use to really assist in making this idea available to more people, in more places.
• Talk Radio Sometimes the topics discussed on talk radio relate to the North American context or Canada-USA relations. It might be relevant during such occurances to call in and just bring up this alternative proposition. Many people have been worried at some form of integration by stealth, called a North American Union. Why not bring up something refreshing; a proposition for a democratic annexation of Canada and the USA, by consent.
• Newspapers Online as well as hardcopy newspapers often have editorials and articles related to a growth in ties between our countries, this is a perfect opportunity to provide comments which bring this avenue up for discussion. Mentioning the website as a reference can go a long way in getting a lot more people to actually come discover what this idea is all about.
• Representatives Those of us who really think about this idea, who dream about it and feel compelled by the potential it brings all of us, can show the seriousness of our support to the idea by writing to our elected representatives and letting them know that this is something that you would like to see discussed. One letter may have a minimal impact. But imagine hundreds, reaching representatives in both countries; Word of mouth between representatives would soon make them at least aware that this idea exists, which is a good first step in getting political endorsements for this proposition.
• Mainstream Media Here we are talking national, regional and local telecasts, those shows always have a slot for spectator comments etc. Of course the subject of an annexation cannot be brought up in any context, but when you feel it's fitting, and have nothing better to do, why not give it a shot. Chances are others like you have read this and the combined effect of many of us actually plugging in the idea when the opportunity presents itself is bound to have an effect!
