Trojan Horse (Released 2008) is a popular Canadian televised mini-series conceived and produced by acclaimed actor, writer, director and producer Paul Gross. Although the series itself is a political thriller focused on international conspiracies, the script surprises viewers early on by setting it's timeline right after a democratic annexation of Canada to the USA.
In this fictional storyline, Canadians vote in a national referendum to decide whether they want to join the USA as 6 states. The movie's choice of annexation scenario is similar to the formulation proposed under the "Equitable Scenario" approach, as further explained and defined here on this website. The real surprise comes early on in the series, as Canadians actually vote "YES" to this proposition, which in turn sets the stage for the rest of the storyline to unfold.
