So what are the numbers actually telling us? |
||
|
Everyone has a basic understanding of what chances this political proposition
has of happening. We are by no means unaware that this proposition is it's in
embryonic stage. Or is it? This idea is very old, in fact it is as old as our
countries! At different moments of our history it resurfaced, each time in a
different way. But what about today? Most people simply chuckle when introduced
to this project. This section aims to share the pulse of what Americans and Canadians think about each other, and documents the numerous studies, polls and surveys that have been conducted in regards to this relationship. More importantly, surveys are a direct sampling of the overall support this political proposition for the annexation of Canada to the USA has, and the numbers are surprising! This section is not only about looking up the numbers. It's also about actively participating in their formation. Certain aspects are interactive while others are informative. On the longer term, when this website has matured, this page will be a portal to a detailed and complete survey, but don't hold your breath, a significant number of priorities take precedence over this little aspect of the website. |

| Let us demonstrate to you, how we came to regard this proposition as a winning horse. | ||

Now find out what the numbers say! |
|
The data from the chart below was taken directly from a professional study. These results represent literally millions of Canadians, 6.7 millions to be precise. This is no small feat, considering the fact that no serious amount of time, effort or money has ever been invested to promote, explain and educate modern Canadians about this proposition! |

| The first thing that comes to mind, when analysing the results of this survey, is the fact that the very spearhead of that support, is concentrated in the french speaking province of Quebec. I am certain that this comes as a shock for many Canadians, as well as for most Americans. But I assure you, that it also comes as a shock to a number of Quebecers as well. Nevertheless, this is the truth of the situation, one which I am well positioned to understand, being a Quebec supporter myself. The reasons for this disconnect between expectations and reality is due to our conditioning to believe certain stereotypes that are simply not true, or in some cases, no longer relevant. We live in the age of information. The internets have changed the way individuals interface with the world. We live in the post 911 era, where freedom and security again become relevant issues that preoccupy the multitudes. The stereotypes of yesterday describe the prejudices of past generations that have outlived their relevance, and now represent (on all sides of the equation) antiquated relics best described as anachronisms. The new generations, already forming the majority in Canada and America, are capable of looking past old feuds that frankly provide little hope of real solutions, but rather feed themselves on fear and hesitation. Instead of looking forward into the future, they try to perpetuate divisions that most people now have difficulty relating to. Why not embrace a fresh alternative instead, by joining the millions of annexation supporters who see a worthy potential in building up a union founded on pragmatic hope, rational interest and mutual understanding. The forces of hope, rationality and understanding are alive and well. A proposition for a democratic annexation must harness these forces, in order to succeed. |
